Achieving a satisfying response to poetry does not usually happen automatically for most students. In Between the lines Shirley Eng has selected eighteen poems from poets in the past and in the present and from different nationalities to provide 6th and 7th form students with a series of steps or criteria to help them reach a satisfying response to each poem.
