The activities for each piece of source material – whether it is Bruegel painting, an encyclopedia entry or train timetable – are carefully developed from questions which establish basic literal comprehension, through inferential comprehension, to interpretation and creativity.
Each section in the Pupil`s Book contains a group of activities, based on one piece of source material, which individual students can do on their own and exercises, games, puzzles and other activities which can be done in pairs or groups.
The Teacher`s Book is an excellent resource of further ideas for more teacher-directed extension work based on each topic in the Pupil`s Book. The activities are for individual, group and whole class work, and answers to puzzles, games and the literal comprehension questions are also provided.
