English as a World Language is a survey of the history and present role and state of English in Great Britain, Ireland, the USA, Canada, the Caribbean, West, East, and South Africa, India, Pakistan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Australia, and New Zealand. It includes a major study of an important English based pidgin: Tok Pisin in New Guinea.
