This book was originally intended for students in a self-study situation. So often students are urged by teachers to listen to radio so that the students become familiar with. Many students experience frustration as they try to fulfil the teacher`s demands. Students cannot anticipate what news items are going to be broadcast, quite often the news they record may be too difficult to decode or simply irrelevant to them.
Head `n Tails attempts to help them overcome these three problems – the news text is available with tape; the tasks are of Intermediate to Advanced standard; and most importantly of all, the items chosen are Topical, relevant and interesting e.g.: Medical Research, Environment, Drugs, Government Policies, Crime and Punishment, the Weather etc.
